Spicy Chicken Wings

These spicy chicken wings are crispy, juicy, and packed with bold flavor. They’re coated in a simple spice blend and finished with a rich, slightly sweet and spicy sauce. My husband absolutely loves these and says they’re one of the best recipes I’ve ever made.

INGREDIENTS:

For the Chicken Wings
• 1 kg chicken wings
• 1 tbsp paprika
• ½ tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp chili flakes
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tbsp mixed seasoning
• 3 tbsp corn flour
• 3 tbsp oil
• Juice of ½ lemon
• 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Note: If Dijon mustard is not available, you can use regular mustard instead.

For the Sauce
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp butter
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tbsp ketchup
• 1 tbsp chili sauce (sriracha)
• 1–2 tsp chili flakes
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1½ tbsp soy sauce

For garnish: Chopped parsley or green onions

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Season the Wings: In a large bowl, add the chicken wings along with paprika, smoked paprika, chili flakes, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, mixed seasoning, corn flour, oil, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Mix well until the wings are evenly coated.

2. Cook the Wings: Air fry or bake the wings at 390°F (200°C) for 22–24 minutes, flipping halfway through. If baking in the oven, cook an additional 5–8 minutes until the wings are browned and crispy.

3. Prepare the Sauce: In a pan, add olive oil, butter, and minced garlic. Let it warm gently, then add ketchup, chili sauce, chili flakes, honey, and soy sauce. Heat the sauce just enough to combine the ingredients. Do not overcook.

4. Coat the Wings: Add the cooked wings to the pan or pour the sauce over them in a bowl. Toss well so each wing is evenly coated.

5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve immediately.

From our kitchen to yours.

1. Make sure the wings are crispy and well cooked before tossing them in the sauce. This helps them hold the sauce better and keeps them from getting soggy.

2. Do not overcrowd the air fryer or baking tray so the wings cook evenly and crisp up nicely.

3. Adjust the chili flakes depending on how spicy you like your wings.

4. If you try this recipe, I’d love to hear how it turned out
